Don't know if you have an Ultimate Electronics (it's like a BestBuy) near you, but they have the 8500 on sale for $241.

the original thread is for the base 8500. but they are now offering the x50 for the same price. factory authorized, and sealed box. just mention s2ki.com

actually -- i've been considering upgrading to the X50. if you're wanting to save some $$ and can live w/ an 8500...
