well for battery terminals i actually just ordered one of these (HDM Digital).

jury still out on soldering?

oh and i'll agree, my Formula is a bit messed up right now

I'd say just go bare wire. I never had much luck in trying to tin solder on 4 awg wire without making a mess (aka melting) of the wire jacketing.

you could slightly trim some of the outer copper woven layers and make it slightly smaller in diameter.
