Slow starting in a civic is just bad tuning.

In the op's case it sounds weird. I haven't had any issues as at all with startup. I'm surprised the shop that did the install didn't warranty that for you. No way I'd let a car leave the shop like that.

If you connect your computer to the ecu in the diagnostics tab there is a parameter called start probability. If the car doesn't start when that hits 100 there is usually a problem in the tune.

schhim,

It sounds like you may have some tuning issues that need to be sorted out. It could be a number of things but cruising around at low speeds with brief power cuts at low throttle sounds like your decel fuel cut could be activating. Under no circumstances should you need to crank the engine more than once for it to fire up. Is this shop AEM Infinity factory trained?

Feel free to shoot me a PM, I'd love to help you resolve any issues you may have.

I called the vendor and they're going to get a hold of AEM to see if I can get a replacement.
We have a couple Infinity's on S2K's and not a single one has that cranking issue. Sounds like you need to look into the VR configuration for the cam/crank pick up at low engine speed, and/or the actual starting fuel/ignition/ve tables need to be tuned. My personal S2K fires up first try on E85 with 30* ambient temps on 1500cc injectors.

I just took the plunge as well. I get my infinity next week. Then to install a bunch of stuff. After that. Off to a tuner. Anyone have a map I could use with 550 injectors ? Or do I just set the VE+target AFR stuff and it will allow me to drive to the tuner ?

If you don't have use for the factory harness then I'd recommend building a new harness that plugs directly into the infinity with out the jumper

GOT MY INFINITY TODAY, THANKS AGAIN.

I ordered an Infinity 6 for my '06. Will be running a custom harness, and converting to cable throttle. I am NA, with a fully built motor. Going to be installing Urge's new Elliptical AT Power itb's. Will provide updates over the winter.
