@justinethecoastie not sure yet I live in SoCal so the shop that's somewhat local to me that comes to mind is rockstar garage but I've barely started looking into this option and don't even know if they do dyno tuning, but maybe they can point me in the right direction if they don't.

Btw since I forgot my old password this a new account so they won't let me reply to individual posts yet

If $1,000 is your budget, then Greddy EMU is going to be the only thing that will fall in that range with tuning. I believe Church can tune those, but their dyno tends to lie (so I've heard) so don't trust the power numbers from it for anything other than comparing before and after tune on the same dyno.

just picked up an AEM V1. Not sure what the differences are between v1 and V2 but I got a decent deal on it and I'm sure I can still do what I need to with it. My biggest concern is running lean givin the i/h/tp/e. Would love to see the 20hp increase up top but mostly looking for low end more than anything. Plus 2step would be awesome to have. Going to church next week so I guess I'll see where I'm at

Just an update on an old ass post;
went with AEM standalone, tuned at church auto for $570 w install given hks and my intake peak was a bit lower than I'd hoped but still came out at 240ho to the wheels. Tuner claims if I ditch the hks and get a cold air he can easily squeeze another 20 out of it

Vtec lowered to 3500 and redline raised to 8600 and 2step set at 4800 ignition cut (the fireballs are pretty awesome)

the low end increase is the really impressive part vtec being always available with the press of the throttle is amazing I gotta say.

overall I spent about $1370 and it was well worth the money. If you're considering a piggyback just saved the extra cash for a standalone you won't regret it

3600 rpm VTEC and related tuning produced a startling mid range power increase in my '06 with FlashPro. VTEC Yo! is pretty much gone, though, as the engine is always on the high power cams from that point and up and the pedal mashed. Comes on right away, not at 6000 rpm. Never drops off the cams as long as I keep my foot down. Cruise at 80mph on the economy cam and just push the right pedal for power. I'm sure this can be duplicated with the right tuner and ECU.
