The stock O2 is a wideband and will get you in the ballpark, but the richer you go...the larger the deviation between AFR and AFR_Corrected values you see in FlashPro. Using a standalone wideband, you can really fine tune the AFRs. I've also got my wideband wired up so I can record it in FlashPro.

While a stand alone wideband is not required to get a good tune for a daily driver....it does improve accuracy. More power, and because the short and long term trims are within 3% most of the time.....I average more than 27MPG consistantly. I went from 221 / 156 on the stock O2, to 234 / 160 after tuning with the wideband. These numbers came off the same dyno.

There is value in a stand alone wideband, but it's up to the individual if it's worth it or not.

actually the only debate is with the absolute values of the stock wideband. once u determine the offset u can tune to the desired a/f. hondata calulated about 1 point. further test by others with side by side comparisons to aftermarket widebands which were tigher ~.5 point difference. either way it would be a good idea to dyno with a/f readings to verfiy the stree tune and stock 02. placement of aftermarket wideband is key. idealy u would want to mount in stock location.

My wideband is pretty close to the stock 02 as far as placement.

I can also confirm that the stock 02 is about .5 point off whay my wideband reads. I was doing the beta testing for ETunez, and both my tuner and I were interested in how much difference a wideband would make in the process. It's dialed in pretty tight....good power and I'm averaging over 28 MPG.

Different subject....

How is your throttle table when stuck in traffic and creeping along at low speed? I'm in the DC area, and I'm running a modded throtle table. I have played with it, and I either get it too soft (takes a much bigger blip when downshifting), or it's like a light switch when on/off throttle in traffic.

its not bad creeping - i kept the values <=12.5% @<=4k near stock values to keep it drivable. for the 1.1-12.5% range i crank up the values from 4k+ so i have to keep the rpms above 4k to get the good throttle response. u have to keep adjusting to get them like you want it. im still adjusting... u got me tweaking now - lol

lol.....it never ends. I tweak on it for a while...then go back. After a while...I start tweaking again....just can't seem to find the sweet spot I'm looking for.

if you want better throttle response - u need to tweak the throttle plate table - take it easy on the first couple of columns or she gets jerky. otherwise u can crank it up and improve the throttle response to you preference.

Since this is latest thread about hondata, I have a question. I have an ap2 08 with FIKP, header back test pipe/single exhaust. So I was wondering whats the diffrenece between reflash and flash pro? From what I'm understanding on their website all I need to do is send my ECU and they'll tune it for me for $295 without buying the hondata?

no, the reflash is just a generic tune. the reflash is just that, reflashing the ecu with a generic tune, with no ability to modify the map. the flashpro allows you to reflash and tune the ecu on a dyno or through e-tuning
