What is your trap speed?
Can you do a quarter mile without going to fifth gear?
I like to set my cars up to go through the traps at the redline in 4th.

This is a good site to figure things out with: http://www.turnzero.com/technical_re...ear_calculator

From my personal observation 4.44 gears are good to 360rwhp, 4.10s are good to 460rwhp, and 3.90s are good to 550+rwhp.

IMHO, Sounds like your current gears are what you want.

FWIW I am running a SOS S/C setup with a puddymod 4.44 rear end. I loved the 4.44s N/A and I still love them with my S/C setup. I am making 440rwhp and they are great for road racing and spirited driving. I haven't done any 1/4 mile runs and dont really plan to so i cant speak to that but for general drivability I would recommend them. I wouldn't go past 450rwhp with them though, 1st gear is just barely usable as it is, any lower and it would be nothing but spinning.

I have had both the 4.57 with 400whp and currently now with 4.3 gears with 446whp. My 4.3's are good for a overall driving at this hp but with 100 treawear 275 tires on the back, I kinda wish I had some 4.4 gears. The 4.57's were just too much of an annoyance on the highway. My 4.3's are just a tad too low on the highway. However the 4.3's give me a good usable range on the autocross course. Pros & cons with everything. Hope this helps others.
