Which AEM EMS program to buy?
^i was literally 1 day away from ordering it when the gauge bit the dust. :-/
so i ordered a digital gauge and sensor for a bike(more accurate to a 10'th of a degree) and im goin to just unhook the oem ecu to dash yel/grn wire and have an actual temp reading in numerical value.

Guys the water temp gauge not working on the 1052 and 1052U is a STUPID argument! I don't know if you guys realize, but you can set the check engine light to come on at ANY pre determined water temperature!
I have my check engine light set to come on at 215 degrees and above.. What more do you need than that?

^i am referring the series 2 thats in my car. and a cel out of the middle of no-where is kinda dumb unless you have AAA. if normal temps are from 190-201, the diff between 201 and 215 could be detected with an actual gauge that changes in place of..................... BLINK! overheating now!........

The cel doesn't work but can be programed as a warning light.. I can set it at any temp I want.. My tuner originally put it at 235 as he said anything above that and the car should be shut down. I added some more safety into that. I also monitor via laptop and never have seen past 204 degrees.
The oem Gage sucks as you already mentioned.
To each their own I guess.
the cel as a warning light is an output that needs to be pinned and wired, wish it was a simple "set on the laptop and go thing".
I am installing a stand alone water temp sender and gauge so i can have those extremely accurate temps without having to wait to know if its getting hot or not. i have the cel as the temp warning too, mine is set at 210.
i just think its total bs for aem to ADVERTISE that this ecu works the oem gauge when it still has issues. wel,, the ecu as a whole still has issues. maybe not for everyone, but for quite a few. and when thats the case, that points fingers at assembly quality and consistency. and when paying what you pay for the damn S2, that thing should be the holy grail RIGHT NOW, not just "down the road" ya know.
pisses me off. shoulda bought the damn sensors and went K-pro....
