Under Properties for the shortcut of the executable you have the compatability tab.

yeah mine says the same
I'm running aem version 3.23.9.189 (probably old??, don't know as I haven't even gone into the software for a while)
with Windows Vista Business
Why don't you log off your session and log on as administrator and run it once under administrator and see if it runs fine. If it does, then log in as you and try it.
If not something went wrong with the install.

Mine did the same thing until I ran AEM Tuner .... Then AEM Pro worked. AEM Tuner is easier to use ( doesn't have all the features, but it helped me learn how to work AEM Pro ). Try using Tuner and see what happens.
AEM will be moving onto the Tuner software soon and ditching AEM Pro. I believe the full release date is supposed to be Dec.
