thanks guys, so the guy that did the build said he picked it up for 650$. That's not bad! I thought they were like twice the amount of your transmissions .

I blew second in my old trans, so I ordered another used trans and broke it down and sent gears to a guy a lot of K series guys do to treat them. My car goes back together soon so I will report back with results

 

350z a 5 speed?

 

No its a 6 speed.

Hey guys i blew my second gear 2 days ago and parts for s2k doesnt exist in my country!!!!! anw the guy who tuned my car recommended the m5 v8 tranny what do you think it costs 1k with its clutch!!

 

Well I hate being the exception to the rule, but I am SC and depending on the era of my build I have been between 220-260 trq and just last week went through my second trans. I have never blown up 2nd gear, but rather the entire trans. All the gears work, however there is a terrible rattle in and out of gear. My guess is the main input shaft bearing. This has happened to me twice at this power level. I'm told I shift fast, but very smooth. WTF

 

I'm at 480-490whp/~500Nm at the wheels now, and still on stock tranny with 120 000 miles on it. I've been at this power level the last 5000 miles+. I definately don't baby the car, and drive quite hard on the street as well. I do have a spare transmission just in case, but haven't needed it yet. I try to shift quite smooth though.

 

You guys must drive like animals. My tranny was taken apart and it looks brand new. I posted the pics a few weeks ago. Leave the CDV in.

 

I have a MY00, so no CDV. Clutchmasters FX725 twin disc clutch. But still no problems. If it wasn't for all the work I would take the transmission out for a look...
