Thumbs up Basic Supercharger tuning

My vicarious knowledge, about auto tuning, came from what I have searched for and learned on this site. But, I have zero experience with any of this and would truly appreciate any input from some of the more experienced owners.

For the benefit of others, and myself, could you please provide your recommendations for the following conditions?

Basic stock S2000 with Comptech/Vortech Supercharger.
Would like to get a baseline dyno and adjustments for longevity and piece of mind.
Additional power modifications are not expected in the near future.

A box stock Vortech is untune-able. There are no adjustments you will be able to make, unless you count taking apart the FMU are changing the rate of it.

A stock Comptech can only have the static fuel pressure adjusted.

I'd expect any Tuner to have a wideband O2 sensor, most likely a Motec unit.

A basic power pull with no adjustments can take about 15min, start to finish. Multiple pulls add to the time, I spent 3 hours on a dyno with an e-manage.

There isn't much to screw up on a Vortech, as there aren't any adjustments. I suppose if they really try to make a Comptech run lean they could, but there isn't any reason to.

Almost anything you can possibly imagine. He might take it upon himself to over-tighten the S/C belt, have his own ideas about what the A/F "should" be and start to mess with stuff to try and change it.
Like Slow says, there is very little to a stock Comptech or Vortech that can be altered (besides changing the fuel pressure or selecting a different heat range of spark plug). All you really need to know for the time being is what the A/F is so that you can be confident that it is running safely and for that, all you need is a wide band gauge. I ran mine right out of the box for almost 2 years before I even bothered to check the A/F. I relied upon "reading" the plugs, knowing by "feel" and by sound what the engine "shouldn't" be doing. Fortunately for me, once I did put the wide band on, the conclusions I made about the condition of the engine over the previous 2 years were confirmed.

That is good to hear. Check A/F's and then everything should just be plug and play from vortech
