I got the block stripped down and ready for the allenbuilt treatment. I should be making the small journey to Inlinepro to drop the block for building and the head will get new bronze valve guides. Also looking into some ID2000s and the Full blown dual pump setup. My power goals are somewhere along the lines of 600-700. I really dont want to shoot myself in the foot with that last statement though hhahaha.

I dont know much about the Crower rods but have heard bad things about Crower stuff in general. I do know that the IP rods have been tested by IP and are very strong. They are pushing well over 900 whp on their S with these rods.
I just recently tore apart my "Inline Pro" motor and it has Crower Rods.

It has nice rod bolts though, so I'm not sure what "Inline Pro Rods" are. But this motor supposedly had them.

So I wouldn't say they don't hold up to power.

So IP has been claiming that the rods they use are theirs but they are Crower's or did Steve just go a different route when he had it built?

How come you tore into it? Was there anything wrong with it or have you seen any signs of wear or anything? Just curious since you have pushed it pretty hard.

this is pretty much the same build I am going with except for the fact that i will be using 9:1 pistons,IP rods and getting the block o-ringed.

I'm not going as far as to say that. However, Steve was under the impression that the block had IP rods. And actually he said something about that being on the invoice.

That's not to say the Inline isn't having Crower build a specific rod for them that they are labeling as their own. That's not that uncommon as it would be much cheaper to do this as Crower already has all the machining to make them.

I'm not sure???

As far as tearing the motor down, I just wanting to make sure everything looked good. And it did. It's had a hard 3 years, so I figured before I really start pushing it, it wouldn't hurt to look at the motor. I am installing new rod/main bearing while it's apart, and a new set of pistons/pins/rings.

I see and that would make sense if they are just having Crower make their design of rods.

Glad to hear everything looked good when you tore into it. It shows that it can take some really hard abuse. Good luck on the new build, I hope you make some really big numbers.

How is Steve doing BTW? If you would, tell him I said hi and hope all is well.

Alright got some pictures of progress that i have been meaning to update with. Last saturday i dropped the head and block off at inlinePRO since its only about an hour and a half away. Should have it back in about 4-5 weeks. No rush though I have a decent amount of wiring to deal with. Talked to Jeremy Allen about the whole tapping the girdle deal and he says the best place is to the right of the crank pulley .
He said he would show me once I came to pick the built shortblock up. I also am probably going to switch up from going with the 35r to something a little different. Not sure exactly yet but it will most likely be a Precision.

i went ahead and pulled the whole drivers side harness to extend, delete, and tuck as needed

Should be done with this drivers harness by tomorrow then on to the passenger side.

Piles of stuff lining the tiny garage wall for the build

Looks like a bomb went off.

Good luck with the build.
