Thanks Mark - If I decide to go this route I may hit you up for the settings, base maps, etc..

I need to sort out my current problems first

James at SOT told me (via email) they are working on some behind the scenes issues and a release date won't be known for another week or so. I was also told as previously stated in this thread they will be releasing a "tuner" package, no engine management.

Wlaurent, anything new to report?

I have 11k miles on the kit and have not had a single problem with it. I will be going emanage ULT towards the end of the month (going on vacation for a 3 weeks).

I am still having some car issues not related to the kit (see under the hood) but mechanically the kit is solid - drove it to the Dragon and back to Phoenix (5k miles in seven days).

James is waiting for the final version of the IC kit to arrive from PWR (made some changes from my kit) to install on Sam's car. Then the pricing should be announced and kits will go on sale (tuner version). I have also found some other minor things that they are sorting out, but they will not cause any delays.

My guess is June 1 they will get the first kits out to the remaining BETA peeps to verify the instructions, etc.. and then start shipping mid-June. By then I should have a solid base map for the eManage ULT if people want to go that route. I have also recommended to James and Jeff Barker that they only sell the IC kit. With the filter location you will have terrible heat soak issues and detonation problems if you go non-IC. Of course if you live in an area where the temps do not go above 80F you may be OK.

what made you decide to go with the ULT?

Also, anyone know how this kit would compare to what Jackson Racing is promising?

Jackson Racing is a centrifical charger meaning boost builds as rpms increase. The SOT kit is based of a Eaton (roots) charger and builds boost much lower in the rpms. If I recall somewhere in this thread Wlaurent stated he was building a couple psi around 3K rpms, a centrifical won't start building boost till around 5.5k rpm.

I decided on the ULT because the K-Pro release date is being pushed out and I do not want to go EMS - plus I know a couple people with experience with it and it appears to work well.

I get around 4 PSI of boost at 3K rpm building to 6 PSI at VTEC. It drops a little at VTEC and climbs back up to about 7 psi at redline.

Emanage Ultimate is a big hit or miss and you might have very big headaches. Defective boxes, blown engines, etc.
Check Miataforum, Elisetalk, etc.
Some people suggest even returning to Emanage Blue which is much more reliable

Going from one bad piggyback (ELF) to another one (Emanage) is a big meh ....

If you don't want a standalone, why not look into something like the Xede piggyback? But stay away from the EM Ultimate
