Car is still running excellent, changed my mind on the eManage ULT and will be going AEM F/IC as soon as the harness is available....

Temps here are in the 100-105 range now and there are no issues with heat soak so far.

SOT is working on getting the remaining 2 or 3 BETA kits shipped (in tuner format) and is in discussion with another company about distributing the kit.

a couple more of the BETA kits have shipped and SOT is in the final stages of sorting out distrobution with a performance shop.

Car is still running great - although the 115F daytime temps do put a dampner on VTEC and boosting. Recently replaced the ELF (original FMU provided with the kit from SOT) with an eManage Ultimate. The added control and features of the Ultimate are nice.

Once I get done installing a NACA duct into the hood I will see if I can find an evening to do a run. To hot during the day to be boosting about.

Got the NACA duct cut in and bonded. Will get some better pics once I get back from Semicon and can repaint it.

Before anyone asks:

No - It is not finished. I plan to do some finish work and use a can of touch-up paint for now. I have an AP2 bumper (and hopefully some 04 head-lights) to install when I get time - then its off to the body shop to get the front-end repainted (Thinking September).

Yes - it helped out in reducing the IAT. The intake charge at the inlet of the supercharger dropped about 40F at anything over 35 MPH (went from 165 to 125 - current ambient temps are 100F). Thinking I will get another 20F by putting a simple heat shield in to focus the air coming in on the filter. The more interesting change was a 44F drop in IAT as measured on the IAT sensor. I cruised around first with the duct covered (ghetto tape and cardboard), then open, then again with it covered - rinse, wash, condition, fully repeatable....

As far as water coming in I am not really concered. The duct drops behind the filter and I live in Phoenix. Not planning to do a water trap - worst case is a wet filter, but no water lock possibility.

The duct is fiberglass and is bonded using marine-grade multi-substrate bonding putty from loctite. Actually saw a guy use this stuff to glue together a broken/cracked lower unit on a boat so he could finish out the weekend fishing. The duct itself was provided by a friend that makes ducts and scoops for a company that makes experimental aircraft.

Wlaurent....

congratulations

the temp change seems reasonable
...and it looks prefect.
understated and functional.

that is exactly what i wanted to see you do

PS -- they say sharp edges are what NACA speced ---
the sharper the the edge the better this duct works

The edges are sharp. It actually looks much nicer than the image shows - will need to get some pics up later this week once I clean it up and use some touch-up paint on it.

I was a little in a hurry to see if it worked - decided that I would finish it later.
