I will be adding a vented hood of sorts - plan to add a NACA duct to bring some cooler air into the filter area.

A few have already looked at doing a coldside kit - just is not enough room to fit the SC. Another interesting point is that Moss Motors stopped making their hotside for a bit of time - recently they have revived the kit because people are able to make more power with the hotside kit than with the coldside kit. (since you can intercool the latter).

not here to talk sh!t but I have to point out some potential issues with a kit like this....

1. the amount of factory parts need to be removed/modified. not very "bolt on" / "oem" install.
- a kit at this price range, produces only 100 or so hp? 7-8 psi? avg end users would expect something relatively easy to install. modifying the a/c lines are not easy and even performance / mechanic shops would hate to do that.
-then relocating the battery, about 30lbs worth of weight to the front, thus throwing off the weight distribution a bit.

2. the supercharger sits right on the hottest spot in the engine bay.
- #1 issue, hot soaking ? i can not see how this thing will run properly under 100 degree summer. how about track days under 120 degree summer?
- even worse, the filter is mounted right next to the header. imagine, HOT air goes in the already HOT S/C, then compressed, it gets even HOTTER, forced in the engine, it just gets hotter and hotter. a very bad cycle.
- reliability issue, the s/c unit will not last under such extreme temperature.
-a vented hood will possibily help though.

3. the way that the filter is mounted is....uh.. weird.
- this makes the kit look even worse, looks like someone pieced this together in his backyard or something.

Suggestions:

think about moving the S/C to the intake side instead. replace the intake manifold completely like the comptech S/C for fwd hondas.
- f20c intake mani is 1 piece, so a new lower intake mani must be made, then the blower sits on top... keeping the throttle at where factory is, the stock air box can be used still.

hope this helps
1. just take it to the ac shop, im sure you can get all the lines moved for about $150 and installing the battery in the trunk is simple, plus you have the added benefit of redistributing weight since you now have a supercharger upfront.

2. thats why its called a hotside, and I dont think it would be to hard to move the filter.

Been following threads on this for the last couple years. Glad to see your install is going well. Any issues with traction?

I saw their estimated claim of 0-60 in the 4.5 second range which makes me want one ASAP (gonna wait for the brave ones to do all the work first) but just wondering about wheelspin at WOT.

I have not got it tuned optimally yet - but getting close.

I am hoping to get the street tune close enough this week so I can get her on the DYNO - but I do not want to do it until it is right. No need to pay for dissapointment since I know the fueling is not quite dialed in yet.

Actually that allows the hot air to exit the engine compartment. I want to force cooler air into the filter area.

Will be doing this:

Glad you're going to do the NACA duct...
Not only will it feed your now ravinous motor but...

It's gonna look bad as hell.

congrats.

very nice. interested in dyno numbers. after driving a vortech'ed s2k, like some people would say, if u spent 5k on a mod you'll want to feel it. for the vortech'ed s2k, the boost will give u a lil kick after vtec engagement, which is around 6500 rpms. i was pretty disappointed actually cus i wanted the umph. i almost decided to go the inline pro turbo route until i saw this root type s/c. can't wait for more info =] a "torquey" s2k would be super nice to drive.
