It doesn't move much air until the high rpm range. It is more for showing off high peak dyno numbers than real world performance.

The Eaton moves air over the entire rpm range - you have full torque from very low rpm ...
I like the power being linier. I like the power being delivered the same way the engine produces power, Considering that when you are tracking the S you will be at 6000-9000 rpms the whole time.

The vortech CAN deliver mid range power, just has to be set up that way.

I really don't understand why people try to get lowend power out of an s2000. If that's the case go turbo.

Personally, i would prefer to have the lowend for daily driving. If i spend 5-6k on a mod, i would like to feel it . VT and CT are great, but you don't feel the boost until its up top. Also, I don't know to many DD turbos that don't have problems.

^ i feel boost all over the powerband. i get 4psi at 4000-4500rpms. but about the SC can it be installed without the oem header setup because it looks like you have to use the heatshelid, or have an aftermarket header thats has the oem brakets on them.

any idea whether the manufacturer will to attempt to obtain CARB cert #'s for this kit? That would be a huge selling point. I personally wouldn't buy a FI kit w/out CARB cert's.

well good point on the daily driving, I have a old daily beater with all the low end I need lol. my S is a weekend car so it spends it fair share in the high RPM's

You don't feel boost till the top, but your car also doesn't make power until the top.

I've turbo cars, and they can be reliable. Just have to be done right.

Totally stealth until you put your foot in it - then it sounds down right evil.

interesting.

Can this work with an after market header and no heat sheild?
It could - but I would be concerned with the added heat.

I believe the Mugen header retains the OEM heatshield - so it would mount perfectly.

CARB cert will be dependent on interest. I am not certain - but believe CARB cert on an FI kit can cost big money ($20k + range).

And that's what positive displacement blower does!!! The power is linear and builds up the same way as stock.

The centrifugal blowers are the ones that alter the stock linear power buildup ...

About the tracking part - not on every track and out of every corner you can be in the 6000-9000 rpm range. And shifting takes time so sometimes it's better for the clock to stay in gear and then the extra power helps

[QUOTE=mike2016,Mar 5 2007, 12:01 AM] not here to talk sh!t but I have to point out some potential issues with a kit like this....

1. the amount of factory parts need to be removed/modified. not very "bolt on" / "oem" install.
