ok guys, im going to go make my pressure tester at home depot here pretty soon. I talked to UR, apparently the .5psi loss was campared to a car that already had the aftercooler installed. So if you had an aftercooler and removed that in favor of the UR front mount, you lost an additional .5psi.

This still doesnt make sence in my case. I think an aftercooler loses about 1psi (im not 100% on that, so if anyone knows the for sure number please post it). So 1psi loss from the aftercooler, plus a .5psi from the fmic, id only lose about 1-2psi, not 3-3.5psi.

there are no gaskets for the compressor housings of turbos or centrifugal superchargers as far as I have ever seen. The clearances are so tight there is no need.

Thats interesting thats the first I have heard that you lose .5 psi more then the aftercooler does.

I agree, i hate the worn clamps too. I didnt know i was getting walmart cheap brand clamps with a freakin 950 dollar FMIC setup.

I did a few tests. First I tested the manifold. I had a pinhole cut in my PCV valve hose (the oem honda one), and a little leak out of the PCV itself, but I think that is normal (its brand new I just replaced that).

I hooked up the pressure tester to the pressure side of the intercooler piping. (put it where the hose attaches to the throttle body, and blew air towards the charger with the charger still hooked up. Air goes right through the charger and out the intake. This is my first supercharged car so im not sure if that is correct or not. (Im assuming its normal).

Im gonna go badk to the home depot and buy another piece so i can block off the pipe to the charger, and basically test all the piping.

the aftercooler doesn't kill boost like the fmic does. i had a custom fmic fabricated and the piping route was much more efficient than the ultimate racing one. it went through the passenger side headlight hole. i made 2psi at 9,000rpm just like you said you were. it seems like the only time those FMICs don't kill an overwhelming portion of your boost is when you're running at LEAST 9psi. both of the reported installations of the UR FMIC i've seen were running a 9psi pulley. you might want to consider trading the UR FMIC for an aftercooler. i put the aftercooler on and my boost only dropped .5psi. i was lucky and got a hold of an aftercooler for sale. i think the only way you'd be able to get one is if you trade your UR FMIC for one to someone running high boost on their setup.

there is no way your losing that much boost with fmic kit. either leak in fmic, leak in piping to and from it, or leak in blow off valve. trouble shoot each peice one at a time and i bet you find the problem.
