I don't know enough to explain why it works but I might be able to help you with your problem. My first question is, is 1-2-3-4 the firing order of your motor? The ignition harness should be wired up in firing order. So the channel and coil might not be the same number. Also, what dial setting do you have set on the front of the eManage? If you play with the dials you might find your exact motor listed on the Parameter screen...which is how the correct setting for the F20C was discovered. My car does not blow fuses if I don't start the car right away...but I don't know how long the key has been left ON without starting. I do know that if you have the wrong dial settings and turn the key on you can blow the coil pack fuse. We did that a few times.

Wesmaster -

Check this out:

http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/emanag...ge/message/3007

which refers specifically to this:

http://forums.clubrsx.com/attachment.php?p...?postid=1285436

Which comes from this thread:

http://forums.clubrsx.com/showthread.php?s...=emanage+wiring

Its a scanned or photographed page from the E-manage installation manual for the RSX tubo kit. It can clearly be seen that the wires are connected ala ch 1 to cyl 1, ch 2 to cyl 2, etc.

Not sure what to think about this....

Also, regarding my rotary switch settings, I have them set to 4-8-B. I believe these are correct, but the engine selection under the parameter settings doesn't show D17A2, which is my motor code for the 2001+ civics. I don't believe there is one listed for my car.

I really wish greddy had better technical support. I can't believe that they don't really at least try and help us out. AEM, as well as other companies out there, would be happy to assist with problems with their products. What a shame....

Wes - how do you have your ignition leads connected? Firing order is 1324 as with all 4 Stroke Inline 4s (that I can think of). Mine are connected 1-1, 2-2 etc, but I don't have the map activated.

I couldn't open the 2nd link without being a member.

The ingition harness has to be wired up in firing order...I just can't see how any documention could convince me otherwise. Right now your car will run since you have no settings in your ignition map, but once you have some settings in there I would expect it to run horribly.

As for the engine code, we thought the same thing about the S2000 motor. Everyone at Greddy USA said it was not possible to control ignition timing with the eManage. We also believed that the Greddy did not have a specific application for the F20C. Both of these have been proven wrong. If you have the time to swith through all of the dial settings, you might discover your engine code or one very close (the F20C setting might even work), the biggest thing is gonna be finding a coil pack motor. Is your car individual coil packs?

Ok, I just checked Virus's diagrams and it clearly states that they can should be connected in cylinder (as opposed to firing) order (unless when it refers to Coil 2 it is referring to the coil on cylinder 3 ). Mine's wired as per Virus's diag.

I'm puzzled by your mention of documentation. Did you wire it yourself? Are you saying "Mine is wired in firing order and works" or "I didn't wire it and don't have it on hand, but I'd assume firing order"? Sorry to be pedantic, just trying to get the facts.

Our firing order is 1-3-4-2, actually. And, the ignition harness should be installed in that order:

Channel 1 - Coil 1
Channel 2 - Coil 3
Channel 3 - Coil 4
Channel 4 - Coil 2

Sorry, what I meant was I don't really care that much what some turbo kit's documentation may read...it's probably wrong, or a misprint, or the kit doesn't utilize ignition control, or that car has a 1-2-3-4 firing which would certainly be a surprise.

So you are saying Virus's diagram is incorrect?

yep, his diagram is incorrect. Ch1 (blue/white wire) goes to coil #1, Ch2 (orange/white wire) goes to coil #3, Ch4 (purple/white wire) goes to coil #2 and Ch3 (yellow/white) goes to coil #4. Also note there is a slight misprint in the greddy manual stating "y/b" is ch3 out, actually y/w is ch3 in.

Glad I found this out before going in for tuning. I guess I'll swap the leads at the E-manage end as the other end is soldered and shrinkwrapped.

Thanks Wes and Blue.
