Look, many may not agree with me here but bad A/F ratio won't fry a motor timing advance will. You can run 13.5:1@ 10 psi of boost with good timing retard and won't kill anything. But 12:1 A/F on 11:1 compression ratio with full timing advance and 91 octane will ping and ping hard enough to take little chips off the Aluminum as you see in the piston on this post.
Each car is different, so if your car has a little more piston clearance and slightly lower compression, you won't pop for 2 years on the stock Vortech, or whatever FI kit. But if you've got a Wed motor, with the best tolerances and tits compression, making mucho max power all the time out of the box, you'll probably grenade after a little while on FI and that bad batch of gas you got that week.
The real key is the quality of the gas which ebbs like the ocean's tides. If you haven't learned what ping sounds like, you'll pop eventually on that bad tank of gas. I've learned my lesson with Shell and my turbo S2k, too much BMEP or whatever, all I know is that I ping bad on Shell and not on Chevron, different additives whatever. Just beware that there's always that hot, dry day where you got the crappy gas that mixed in the station's tank with god knows what. All the good tuning in the world can't save you from that.

In fact, he did provide this board with some enlightening information.
HOWEVER, until Slows2k EDITED his title and until the original author EDITED his own first post, it was misleading and dramatic! I merely pointed this out. My objection was that he then proceded to BELITTLE those who have the Vortech on their cars. THEN, he added insult to injury by being BELIGERENT to those same people.
Now that the proper EDITING has been added to this thread, I'd like to think it can procede with some decorum, but I'll still meet any ACTION with equal (well, maybe just a bit more ) and opposite REACTION.
