Your canisters weighed a bunch because they are full of fuel. The ORVR system puts the air/vapor leaving the tank back into the canister and the fuel stays, the air goes out the vent valve.

Since your AEM never purges the vapor out of the canister it's now saturated with liquid fuel and weighs even more.

The pics posted in this thread show the wet spots where liquid fuel has seeped from the canister and vent valve hose that goes to the subframe.

Cars with functioning EVAP systems don't do this.

What did you end up doing with the lines when you removed it? I mainly just want to get rid of the 2 vacuum lines and solenoid under the hood so there is less clutter in the bay and less rats nest under the intake manifold. Can I remove these and leave the hard line open to atmosphere without any big issues?

Honestly I haven't done anything with it. I pulled it off, and have been concentrating on other items.

I'd like to figure it out as well, as it will need buttoned up here soon.

Thoughts?

Agreed. I need to get my tank drained here soon, and I'll start trying to figure this out again. Time is wasting away, lol.

Im just gonna leave it plugged, I only run a half tank anyway and open up the gas cap to check the pressure every once in a while.

Good bit of junk.

The canister has a little weight to it surpassingly enough.

What's the approximate weight of all these components?
