I have the kit, and I have a really nasty U bend because we did not clock the supercharger. I am only yielding a loss of 1psi on a 9lb pulley.

But yours install and the U-Bend look way different than the one on UR website
I work at an exhaust systems factory that manufactures units for new cars using stainless steele. We use generally fabcor 409 wire and some other wires depending on application.. We use 98/2 argon and DONT backpurge. Everything is leak tested using Cosmo leak testers.

This is probably the main, if not sole cause, of your large pressure loss. Stainless steel needs to be back-purged from the inside with Argon. If this is not done you will see crystallization deposits all along with inside of the tube where the weld occurred. I'm pretty sure that if you were to cut the "JDM" section of the intercooler pipe along its length, the inside would probably resemble a corrugated drain hose. Mild steel with a powdercoated final finish may have been a better choice since it does not need to be back-purged. Aluminum, however, would have been the best way to go. Its a lot lighter, though it is more difficult to weld. I'm glad to hear that you were eventually able to get your car tuned though. Welcome to the FI club.
