Is it a good idea to put the car on the floor rather than on the jack stands while I am trying to remove the crank pulley bolt?

I did have mine sitting on the ground to remove the crank pulley. If you use the impact to remove the crank pulley then you won't have to take it off the jackstands. However, if you need to switch to a long breaker bar then I would consider putting it down.

Also, getting an impact onto the crank pulley with everything you'll have going on there and the position of the front framework will be difficult in itself. Hope your impact packed its jock strap for the work day as well.

The car on those jack stands looks scary. Call me paranoid, but on my install, I have 4 heavy duty truck jack stand and 4 of the regular jack stand supporting the car. I would hate to have one fail while I'm under the car.

And again, the Ptuning kit was a breeze to install. Everything was well packaged and organized. Their support was top notch...

According to the oem service manual they say to not use an impact on the crank pulley. Just sayin... Everything looks covered though.

Ok I am doing the crank pulley next. I got everything else off.

So yesterday I kept prying at the tabs with no success. I had a feeling something I was doing was wrong. I came on here and did a quick search. Found a post by Billman saying don't forget about the 2 bolts from the transmission to the oil pan. Went under the car and there it was, I forgot to remove them. Well everyday's a learning experience.

So I am going to put the car on the floor and use a long breaker bar to get the crank pulley off. I do have truck jack stands so when it goes back up I'll use those to support the car.

I am thinking that I should get gauges to measure oil temp, oil pressure, and water temp. I am already going to have a wideband and boost gauge in the A pillar.

For those you who have oil temp, oil pressure, and water temp. Where did you guys tap into in the engine?

I'd like to try to avoid using the sandwich plate that goes between the oil filter and the oil cooler.

Thanks

So Im done with the Kpro install. Just finished bolting up the oil pan 2 days ago. I hope this weekend I can make some good progress as long as something doesn't come up.

indi00 it's on truck jackstands now I hope that makes you feel better lol I know it makes me feel better.

I brought my car to the ground to get the crank pulley off. Just for fun I tried using the Impact "FAIL".

[attachment=19787:IMG_6721.JPG]

Then I got my 3/4" breaker bar w/pipe extension out. On the 2nd yank I broke the bolt loose.

[attachment=19786:IMG_6718.JPG]

Drew a diagram of the Kpro wiring harness before I depinned it.

[attachment=19795:IMG_6757.JPG]

Installed the crank trigger wheel w/sensor. Depinned the the Kpro pigtail (where it plugs into in the Kpro Used heatshrink tubing (unshrunk) to protect the wiring to the intake and then used a wiring loom from there to the firewall.

Thanks ronac for answering two of my posts for help @ around 1:30 AM. This is regarding how to depin the Kpro electrical connector and that the words "OUTSIDE" on cam trigger wheel need to be facing towards the rear bumper.

[attachment=19790:IMG_6745.JPG]

The exhaust cam trigger wheel was a pain to remove. I ended up modifying the 8mm hex socket by cutting (shortening it) so that I could get my 3/8" ratchet to break the bolt loose.

[attachment=19791:IMG_6739.JPG]

Installed crank pulley bolt to factory torque spec using 3/4" torque wrench. Actually I take my time and torque every bolt down to factory spec .

Needed to move some of the stock wiring out of the way to mount the Kpro.

[attachment=19792:IMG_6769.JPG]

Had torque pattern handy before installing oil pan.

[attachment=19793:IMG_6792.JPG]

I found this casted on the block. I guess it's the company that made it?

[attachment=19794:IMG_6726.JPG]

Other than that it was pretty straight forward.

Thanks I am going to get the ODB.

Do you think putting the coolant temp sensor in the top radiator hose using an adaptor like this:

would reduce flow?
