Which gauges are most important?
Racepak or aim. I believe their basic model is about 600. That's just a display only price, I may be wrong. Once you start adding features, logging, inputs/outputs the price goes up. there is an interface for aem as well
Lots of options though as for warning lights, shift lights, and what values to display.
I run the motec cdl3 and love it. We have a basic racepak on our rwd escort.

As far as I know AEM EMS can't be directly configured to cut Ignition if Oil pressure drops too low directly. You can wire up the sensor but only view/log it not use it to affect the tune in any way. Only a few sensors have the ability to affect the tune, such as IAT, ECT, EGT, AFR and a few others. You would need a separate device to read the sensors, decide the requirements, and then ground out/power an input to the EMS. Even with a direct input like that you have limited options on what you can do using the nitrous maps, 2 step rev limiters, and boost control if you are controlling boost with your AEM EMS.
I guess you lit a fire under my butt. I added the trigger outputs for the transmitter, so now my warnings can be configured to output to the AEM EMS and trigger a boost or ignition cut. You can setup minimum oil pressures for various RPM points. You can setup maximum AFR readings for various Boost readings, coolant temp protection, etc. Any sensor the AEM can read you can setup a warning and a trigger to cut the engine.
I hate to bump this up but i have ran into a few questions about gauges and i cant seem to figure out an answer (ive been searching for a week or so)
I have a 2006 s2000 with SOS youtune kit. Ive decide to get at least an AFR and oil pressure gauge. (probably plx multi gauge)
Now my tuner/shop told me that the 02 sensor on the DBW ap2s can read wideband air fuel ratios. is this true? would i still need to get a new 02 sensor and stuff when getting a gauge or can i somehow tap into this 02 sensor?
Can I monitor any of these two from my OBD2 through a phone app? (i have looked up torque app my friend recommended, but i cant seem to find an answer if AFR or oil pressure is displayed from the obd2)
hope someone can chime, Thank you!
