Hi folks,

Question, I'm looking at car here that has the list modifications below. How difficult is taking these cars back to N/A? owner claims to have all parts to do so, what do you think used maket value would be on it?(has maybe 2k miles on it)

Sheepey built turbo manifold
Precision 62/66 turbo
Tial BOV
Tial 44mm waste gate
3" custom charge pipes
SOS map sensor
Precision FMIC
Spec stage 5 clutch
Turbo XS boost controller
AEM V2
Walbro 450 rewired
Id1000 injectors

If you want an N/A car, buy an N/A example. I'm always leery of people with a few thousand miles on an FI build and then wanting to get rid of it.

Far to much hassle for a new owner. I would imagine you will not have 100% of the parts as things are easily lost.

I assuming you are thinking about selling all the components so the cost of the base S2000 is cheap?

It will just sit in my garage, I'd plan to do the work over the winter while I wouldn't be driving it. I know the occasion small bits can be lost but usually those parts are cheap(or at least sometimes lol ) Yes, the plan would be to sell the kit to offset the cost. Plus it's white, local & in good shape interior/exterior wise.

If you must tempt fate, at least do what you can and do a comp and leakdown test on this engine. Its good practice to do regardless on any car your looking to buy, but especially so on a S2000 that has a turbo. You think you might be getting a good deal today, until you go through all the work of putting back to stock and start driving only to realize a month down the road that the engine drinks a quart of oil every 500 miles because the tune sucked and washed the rings, or has a cracked ring land because the engine has been detonating from over boost because the wastegate has been malfunctioning, or the added AIT and EGT heat spun a bearing, or the extreme under hood temps prematurely cooked/cracked the engine harness so sensors, coilpacks, injector clips start to fail etc etc There is a laundry list of possible issues with Turbo boosted S2000's that do almost always come up at some point and depending on how savvy the owner is to address these right away can determine the overall health and longevity. But in general the motor and drivetrain/wear and tear is far greater when you acquiring a car that has been boosted. I used to be boosted myself and know first hand how this usually goes. I'm not boosted anymore, couldn't afford to stay that way after 7-8 years of regular failures and interment problems.
