Well when your driving you can be in vacuum as well. It really depends n the throttle position

Just wanted to ask you guys something....I had an arguement with my friend about this, as I told him there is something wrong with his vacuum lines, and he disagrees....

On a boost gauge, when the car is idling (no throttle) the gauge should read vacuum. When you touch the throttle, the gauge should read 0, and when you start building boost, the gauge should begin climbing into the boost territory. Is that correct?

His car is in vacuum when he hits the throttle, and only after he starts to REALLY boost, it creeps up to the boost area. I always thought that when you hit the throttle, it should read 0.

Joey, this one is for you....

First of all, many thanks for posting up the photos. Appreciate it. Now...look at this photo...

The area that you wrapped with the heatwrap...I know what the long one is, that's the AC line, but whats the other smaller one?
I am actually not sure, It had that black soft material around it I believe, so I figured I would heat wrap it, Ill take another look, I am away for a few days, when I get back home I will take a look.

BTW, when I am driving at a constant rpm, and speed I am around 20 on the vacuum side, when I slowly accelerate I am around 0, anything close to WOT, I Swing to 7PSI

Not necessarily true. In a true NA application... your engine will be in vaccum during idle (car is sucking air in... only reason its near 22inhg is because the throttle plate is closed so the engine is working real hard to breathe... just think of an ashma attack)

On the throttle and WOT, the throttle plate will be open but will still register a vaccum... it CAN"T and will NOT goto 0 no matter since your car will always be sucking air in at a demand that exceeds what the atmosphere can deliver.

Hope this helps

I just ordered a manual Boost Controller. I already have a Boost Gauge and don't want to switch Boost Levels, hopefully I won't have any issues with Spiking or anything. With a 70mm Test Pipe, 70mm Invidia V3, Greddy Racing ISO 8 Spark Plugs, Greddy Type RS BOV and 9PSI or so, I hope to be around 280-300WHP, safely We will see, Car has been running great lately, almost too good to be true (Knock Knock).

I will also be running a MBC, 70mm exhaust w/ test pipe, colder plugs, and a BOV.. can't wait to compare numbers!

With my luck ill be at 250WHP haha. I dunno I have some Oil stains on the side of my block, where the Header used to meet the block, always seemed to "bleed" oil slowly from there Hoping nothing to major, never had it looked at, hopefully won't show up in my tune, or dyno numbers. Car feels strong though

Same everything, except I am keeping my HKS. We should see how our cars stack up.

Same tuner, but different model years, so we can see which car takes the turbo better.
