Does anyone know how to install BOV? Does it need the flag to the pipe?

Pretty much you have to have the flange, that is supplied with the bov, welded to the charge pipe. And depending on the bov, you will need to run a vacuum line to it.

You are correct, all of the greddy cast manifolds do this upon startup, i'll only last a day or two.
I just happen to be doing my greddy install as we speak as well. I had my cast manifold ceramic coated, hopefully to keep some heat in. Thoughts? Good move, bad move, waste of time?

Also, what do I need to do to get a base map from greddy? I already had an emanage ultimate in the car and don't need the one in the kit (will be for sale soon). Will they give me one without any hassle?

Also, I have test pipe and a nice single exhaust on there, any potential issues with running the base map for a month or so until I can get it properly tuned? I do have the boost controller and BOV with the kit and intended to limit boost to the stock level until I could get it tuned.

To the OP, awesome job, thanks for the excellent post. I can't wait to get mine done and feel what you are feeling

hmm, not sure about ceramic coating. it didn't hurt at least! (i don't think)

call greddy and they can email you an unlocked basemap.

I'm not sure about the A/F with a testpipe, but i know the boost will spike like a madman w/ a testipipe on. Might as well just have your stock cat on there for that month until you get it tuned....the cat is easy enough to swap out for the testpipe once you are ready to tune.

Since you in CA, remember that having a bov voids the carb cert. for the kit.

^ you can always put a blocking plate on the flange when you go in for smog

But seriously tho, what is their problem about releasing the same air the charge pipe took in?

Other than that, the only annoying sounds are the intake AND the compressor surge.
Isn't that part of the pleasure of having a turbo kit? To hear the air being sucked in and the compressor doing it's job?

In comparison to your sex reference... it's like having sex with a girl that moans and screams... just makes it that much better.
