Question... in the vid, there seems to be a lot of smoke coming from the turbo section. What was or is that?

Burnoff. There was some oil on the manifold when I got it and also the coating on the downpipe.

On a sidenote... I've checked this morning and I HAVE NO OIL LEAKS! Sweetness.

Hey Greg...

Thanks for everything man. You def have a returning customer for sure. I ordered out of state to save on Taxes and sometimes its strange dealing with someone out of state with that kind of cash... but you sir proved that its worth it and that there are standup people out there who provide great service to those who they dont even step into their shop.

Everyone who's thinking about going greddy (after reading this DIY you should) goto Greg @ gtmotoring... he'll take care of you.

I do have a question tho. Can the tuners get 10psi out of the turbo without a boost controller?
I had the stock exhaust + test pipe and no boost controller when the turbo was installed. The boost was around 8 psi or so. I put a new larger exhaust on and added a hi-flow cat and the boost dropped to 6. I had to buy a boost controller and turn it up to get it back to 8.

Normally, my boost is 8.8 - 9 but on the way to work in the last couple of days the temps have been under 15 degrees and a few test highway pulls showed a consistent boost of 9.8. I would be wary about setting it too high if the temps drop too low.

You are correct, all of the greddy cast manifolds do this upon startup, i'll only last a day or two.

[QUOTE=kix,Jan 19 2008, 11:42 PM] Post Install (minus fuel pump)
-Overall the install was a breeze. I started the install on a Saturday morning and planned to finish it by Monday at 6pm. The only things that delayed my time was trying to get the heat-shield off, getting the header out, and my multiple trips to Home Depot to buy M8 x 1.25 nuts. Now I can say for sure that if you DON

Any kind of boost is going to be bad without the fuel pump to richen the mixture. Don't skimp out, you've come this far.

Really nice write up, been waiting to see how this kit perform on an otherwise stock AP2 (stock cat/exhaust). Damn I never thought about FI but this kit's all-in-one solution and easy installation is really tempting.

How's the throttle response?
