[QUOTE=ChefJ,Apr 29 2007, 11:39 AM]We all know that the power drops off at 8500 anyway.

It does? Thats news to me.

Almost any plot. Larger turbos don't spool as low and continue to create power higher in the rpm band. Not to many people are using turbos that large around here.
Don't chase me around on this I will find dozens of plots to prove my point.
Look at your own plot it didn't even fully spool until 5 grand, that leaves you 4000 rpms at boost.

Now that I look at it again even yours falls off at 8500 and you actually are losing torque.

It must be. HP goes flat and torque is dropping off.

Yes, torque will drop off, but if the drop off is not severe, rpm will increase the HP. On my plot that I posted, if I had set the rev limiter to 9400 rpn, the peak HP would have been up by 15 to 20 more. Check out the dyno plots on this post:

for those of you who are experienced with Greddy turbo kits, do you think it will be a hard job to get it up to 9 psi and not have problems? if so, can you guesstimate the potential rwhp?
hp=rpm x torque x k
where k is a constant

For hp to drop significantly one would expect a significant drop in torque at the top rpm band, to compensate for the rising rpm. It would be good to see the rest of this dyno curve.

I have greddy turbo on my skyline gtr and the s2k so I might be able to answer this . I have 2 of the same turbo on my 2.6L gtr. The car currently has 20psi of boost at 4.5-9kprm and the turbo shouldn't have any problem pushing out a bit more.

However, if there is significant power drop at top rpm on the f20c, then the turbo might be at it's max efficiency range. Squeezing more boost out of it might be a bit unsafe for a number of obvious reasons eg higher intake & exhaust temps, higher exh pressures etc etc. Upgrading to the next turbo, a T618Z with internal gate, is easy anyway coz I think they have similar flanges.

Overall this kit looks great for the cost. The only thing I would add is an oil cooler to keep engine bay temp cooler.

BTW does greddy use an oil restrictor with this turbo on the f20c?

look at ANY S/C dyno it will NEVER fall off at 8500 RPM

LMFAO @ you thinking power always drops off, that is hardly the case with F/i.
Thats not what I said. And again SC'ers don't make power until higher in the rpm range, which is why there torque numbers suck. torque and hp are always the same at 5252 rpms.
Yes most sc'ers will have a flat hp curve that won't seem to end but there is no torque.
Besides we are talking about a turbo. So lets stay on topic.
