I did have a test pipe on there for over 100 miles and I did not scorch my bumpers. I used to check frequently because I had several huge gouts of flame come out of the left tail pipe (according to concerned bystanders).

I have a hi flow cat on there now and at idle the exhaust gas temp is rather mild.
hey why did you go from Test Pipe to HFC?

I wonder if I shoot flames. I do hear a pop from the exhaust between WOT shifts every once in awhile. Not sure if this is a good thing or bad thing sounds cool tho

Its just excessive gas igniting.
I remember a guy in highschool (way back in the day) who had this old corolla. he would floor it turn the car off and then fire it up and would get a huge pop with flames out the exhaust. Sounded like a gun shot! That was funny as hell to see.

I had a test pipe on for over a year before the turbo was installed. I grew extremely tired of the nasty exhaust fumes I was forced to smell every time I came to a stop with the top down from spring to fall. Also, nothing I did to remove the check engine light seemed to work with the megan test pipe I had. The very slight performance improvement was not worth the hassle of these two drawbacks to me. I'm well aware that people have been able to run test pipes with no check engine lights, but I was not one of them. The smell alone was enough to get rid of the thing anyway.

Two things are very important to me in my daily driver. Clean smelling exhaust and acceptable exhaust noise. Reliable check engine light and being able to pass emissions and inspection "legally" also floats my boat.

I think I am going with the HFC, instead of the Test Pipe, I don't want the car to smell like a cheap POS, and I love the fact that its legal and flows up to 87% of a Test Pipe, if I was that concerned about HP, I would of went the Inline Pro way, as opposed to my Greddy

I have an EMS and 650's already and was going to go inline.. BUT

The reason I went Greddy was purely that I liked that I could just change a few things (throw the cat back in and take off the blow off valve) to go and get my car smoged here in California. With inline I would have had to "pay the man" or take the whole kit off which would have sucked.
Also I really didnt see much need to be over the 300 hp mark. I have a comptech supercharger and liked it but I just wanted more bottom end tq which the greddy kit will do for me.
