You dont have to shut it down right after you hit your target rpm you want to check the plugs at on a dyno. You can bring the car back to idle and then check them and you will see the same outcome.

not for long, if it idles too long then it can change the reading....

How many people actually check the pulgs correctly? You're supposed to kill the ignition and pull the plugs at the point you want to check them. So say you want to know how they look in boost, and at 7000rpm....go hit full boost and 7000rpm and turn the key off, then pull the plugs.

This method can be sorta hard to do on the street, that's why it's easier to do on the dyno.

This is what I've understood as well.

Those plugs just look old and tired.

Swap them for a new set, carry on.
