S2000 Forced Induction S2000 Turbocharging and S2000 supercharging, for that extra kick.

Ignition options? Coils, plugs and stuff.

I was working on an ignition system but decided to ditch that because no matter what box you use, they will fail at some point on a street car.
Yeah, back in the day I used to run 6AL's until I got a bad streak. The last straw was when I got stuck in the middile of NO WHERE when my Vette just turned off. It was about 0F out and windy, by the time I figured out the problem and rewired around the MSD the battery died b/c of the flashers!!! Needless to say no one picked me and my buddy up and we walked for about 2 miles most of which as on a lake dam with the wind cutting right through us. Oh and this was back in the day when cell phones were as big as a brick and no one had them.
Same here, minus the wind and cold. Pulled up to a intersection in my Cobra and it just shut off. Digital6 box fried. Luckily everything was plug and play, so it was a quick fix. I pulled that crap as soon as I made it home, never bought another msd product since. Nothing beats oem reliability.

Bumping this old thread in search for new options, are there any new bolt on ignition parts for us?

A lot of high power builders use the LS2 Truck coil now, a monster according to some people, any input?

Looking for a simple upgrade ready for big hp.

On OEM coils? Any of high hp guys using it? Always sceptic to "piggy back" parts but guess this is solid?

It's what we used on the old rotary engine to solve the ignition issues, I also have 4 on standby if the S2k coils don't prove up to the heat from race abuse....cheap too.

Ive been breaking up too! Evans tuned it 2 weeks ago and make 507 at 18psi on my p-tuning setup on sunoco 110 leaded fuel. Stock ignition and coils with 77,xxx miles on them and a fresh set of BKR8EIX irridiums gapped to .22-.23. Didnt run into any problem at the tune or even after but the last week or so up in connecticut it has been SUPER HUMID and just all around shitty for running cool and crisp. Any options? Im thinking about replacing my coils soon but want to know what the best options are. Im also going to switch back to my 424whp map on pump gas and 13psi since filling up on race gas is starting to make me chringe lol espically when im not seeing anywhere near the 507whp with the crappy weather out

I´m still interested in the LS2 Truck coils, any clue if we can use them? And very important, better than our coils?

Found this wiring diagram:

Here´s a hint, any good? On the LS1 coil there is around 40 milliamps of peak secondary current with 5 milliseconds of dwell time. On the LS2/truck coil (AC Delco D585), there is 120 milliamps!

On a Honda? Hp level?

Talked to a Audi tuner a few days ago and these coils solved their spark problem above 1000hp, right now 1300bhp. Hard to compare when they have 5 cylinders/coils but nice to see these numbers with a simple ignition system.
