^^^ I believe the SC opening is between 3.15" - 3 1/2". I helped a friend fit a narrower filter right on the SC which fit between the radiator. It was only a 3" openign I think, but we heated it up to slip over the SC opening and then hose clamped it. It worked, but I wouldn’t do it if I had a choice, just becuase I think the filter was to small overal and was just some crap from Schucks. I run the AFE filter without the comptech box altogether these days, but I use to run it in the box also. I got my filter from Amazon for lik $60-65 shipped. Was the best deal around.

Hello, I saw this thread and I have an AFe filter and recharge kit for sale.

The AFe was known for improving HP numbers vs the stock CT filter.

Not sure if this will help you, but I am running a 3.5" flow stack with K&N RF-1048 Filter on my K&N FPIK. I just swapped out the stock filter that came with it. I can tell you that with the flow stack and larger filter it screams at 7-9k RPM.

Sweet, glad I can be of service. I also used a silicone reducer, 3.5" to 3" to match the K&N FIPK. They have many shapes and sizes here:

yeah, i checked it out and saw that they sell it in 3" or 3.5" so either way im good. just gotta see what the od of the actual SC inlet is and i can go from thee. ill probably make my own intake tube and run it to the comptech box.

Excellent!

next question:

ive done some more investiating, and with the help of my buddy watson, i have noticed that the intake tube is 3.5 inch end-to-end, and when it connects to the box, it has a 3.5" to 5.5" increaser.

so that makes me wonder, is that junction right there a velocity stack/funnel?

it has to be. why else would the size need to go from 3.5" to 5.5"? if this can be confirmed, i will simply buy H8ter's filter and an aluminum pipe to replace the plastic-looking one and be straight! then i can have that sucker here before the kit comes in so i dont have to do separate installs.

btw, the Godzilla bov came in yesterday. shit is gigantic!
...thats what she said.

k. so final word:

i bought the 5" long filter from H8r instead of the 7" long one that people were literally crammin into the comptech box.

and i bought a 3.5" mandrel aluminum U-bend to build an intake that will replace the ghey plastic.

all in all, very pleased and cant wait to get my kit in early jan.

thanks for everyone's time and assistance!
