No need to weld, just tap it for 3/8 NPT and put a plug in it. It's all in the instructions from Vortech.

The guy who is doing my banjo bolts said for me to just pick up a bung and a cap for it so guess I will do that.
So would I just need a 3/8" NPT bung and cap? 3/8" is what the stock return line will screw into?
Does material for the bung matter? If so which material should I get?

You can only weld aluminum to aluminum, if you insist on welding you'll need a aluminum fitting.

It's easier to drill and tap for the fitting than weld.

Ok cool. I will just get it drilled and tapped then.
For the plug it doesn't matter the material does it?
And do you know if any stores usually carry those or would I need to order it online? Wanting to get this done this week so if I could pick it up locally would be a big plus.

The fittings Vortech provided are brass, you can use aluminum or brass which is the most commonly available for pipe fittings. The pan needs to be tapped for 3/8 NPT for the Vortech drain fitting. Do you have the fittings for the oil return line?

Home Depot/Lowes carry pipe fittings

Yeah I believe I do have it.

Here is what I have for the return line. I would believe the brass fitting there is what I need to screw into the oil pan once tapped right?
I will be having it plugged for a little while first though.

The 90 degree fitting and the red hose are not Vortech supplied parts. Don't even see why they would be needed.

The fittings in your 1st pic are all that is needed to attach to a tapped hole in the pan.

You'll need a 3/8 NPT plug to block the hole after it is tapped.

Ok cool. So I'll take a look for a plug at home depot or something or Lowes tomorrow. Hopefully they will have something for me.
Thanks a lot for your help!

I just picked this up from Lowes.
Would the pieces be labeled NPT? It doesn't say anything about the thread so would it most likely be NPT?

Also the previous owner of the kit did not use a fuel pump. He had the inside of the FMU changed out to a 10:1 ratio. Will that be a problem? Will it be running way to rich with that?
