Yes, one way or another I need it back here by the July 9th which is when Mase is coming to tune it.

need either a usb cable or a serial cable that is long enough to reach from ecu to your laptop and be comfy. then install program, start it up, connect to ecu, and choose window you want to datalog. push F6 i think it is, and boom, logging. i choose the tuning window, has lots of good info on there.

With the Version 2 a usb cable it it, just make sure it is a printer cable. Also you will probably need to manually install the USB drivers

Use the DB9 cable, way less bugs that way.

Well, got some good and bad news.

1.) Precision found the problem, there was a small piece of aluminum in the internal 0.035” restrictor. Based on what they could tell this starved the turbo of oil and caused bearing failure. This would explain why the turbo sounded good and was okay initially, as it was getting oil just not nearly enough. They agreed to have the cost of the repair for me and will have the unit back by early next week.

I was hoping that it was their issue and still wonder how metal got in the feed line but they were very helpful and professional. Precision FTW

2.) With the turbo off I noticed that I could see the diaphragm on the WG through a little hole. Turns out there are (2) vacuum ports on the lower portion of the Precision wastegate. So that you can choose a different location depending on the manifold design. If the turbo would not of come off I would have never found this.

3.) On my new build I used all 1/4” ID vacuum hose vs. the 1/8” I used in the past in hopes that I would have better BOW and Boost control operation. Anyway long story short I did not want to use zip ties on the hoses as the just embrittle over time and fall off. I went to the local hardware store and found spring clamps that are used for low pressure fuel lines that fit perfect. They also had a nice brass Tee fitting, I hate the damn plastic ones they just can’t take the heat.

So now all I really have left to prepare for my tuning day is to install my fuel filter, get a new air filter, and look at getting a turbo oil feed filter.
