Jesus, sorry to hear man.

I know precision has been the "trend" lately, but I have heard of a lot of these turbos going to shit.........

Good luck and I feel your pain, I still don't know what the hell was wrong with my car, or if the problem will return.

Oil drain going into the pan may be your problem and oil may have backed up and coked the turbo pretty good.

Could you buy that other 6262 for sale on the forum? He was running the mase kit, I think he want to go back to the 5758.

Didn't you tap the front of the pan? Or was it the girdle. I thought I saw a pic of you tapping in an unorthodox spot.

I wondered about these new air cooled center sections from precision..... I wonder if it had been water cooled if this would have still been an issue. My turbo was one of the last water cooled just before they switched over. I'm not sure if this a good or bad thing.

I better start putting mine together. I hope my 5857 bb doesn't die before made comes.

Why are precision turbos killing off so much lately?

I kept the same drain placment of the IP kit which is as close to a staight shot down as it can get. The line is clear and I was in vacuum the entire drive. As long as the crank case pressure does not exceed the drain line pressure there can be no issues. As I said before this was only operating for a few miles with no load and oil flow and pressure were verified, impeller clearence was checked so there are a few possibilies on the failure mode but oiling was not in the list.

Personally I really like the placment of the drain though due to the fact that during a pull the oil would have a better chance to drain due to the acceleration forces twords the rear of the car.

There should be no issues with air cooling but we will have to see what luck everyone has.
