Now, let me ask you a stupid question. Did you have to pull the turbo out to get to the nut that is sitting right below the turbo?

Don't wanna have to pull the turbo once again but I probably know the answer is I will have to
Anytime bro!! Sorry, but i dont do my own work. My buddy works on my car and fabbed the heatshield. I should be going by his shop tonight. I will ask him..

I'm no engineer by any means, but couldn't you fab up a heatshield for these kits fairly easily?

say a c-shaped aluminum "Clamshell" shield that gives ~3/4" clearance all around the mount except for the mounting point on the bottom of the mount. basically seated in the cup where the bushing/vibration mount sits.

Seperate it with a organic or Carbon/Kevlar washer to reduce heat transmitted to the bottom of the mount bushing.

Include it in the kit or sell it at an option level. (a la oil filter relo.)

Problem solved, and no welding would be required for the installer so the kit could remain bolt on

I did the heat shield on OG's car and the top nut fot the driver side mount will come out but is a pain in the butt just enough room to turn a wrench in there , no need to take the turbo out , just use some heat rap and rap it around and also use some alumn. heat shield in betwen the mount bracket and the mount , OG should have some pictures of it.

If anyone needs mounts I have 2 for sale , they came out of an '05 S2k.

i dunno how good of an idea this is, but i have heard of people using an engine torque damper after that motor mount throws in the towel. i would also like to know if you can get to that upper mount bolt without taking off the turbo, because i just got the inline kit and mine will most likely go also. although i do have some headshield tape around . . .
You can defenitely get to the bolt from the top where the battery is.
I don't have a battery or tray there so I got a clear shot with a 90 degree wrench.

And damn, these stock motor mounts are too damn soft. Went under there and rocked the engine after replacing the bad mounts and I could rock the engine pretty good
