Just wondering, since I've never really looked at it, what does the stock timing map look like? Anyone have something they could share? I'm just curious.

Thanks.

I know I'll probably get flames for this but had a quick ? for you meth heads. Where I work we have this mixture used for " fuel system cleaning" it is a mixture of 75% methenol 25% toulene by weight. I was wondering if there would be any benefit or if it would be dangerous to inject this mixture. I was wondering because I know toulene is used in homemade race gas.

The AEM basemap should have stock timing tables, no?

You need to remember a few items though.

2 main parts to most solutions. Water and methanol.

W/that said the water cools the flame front and helps pull heat from the motor, prevent detonation/etc.

The methanol adds "power" to the fuel, and ups your effective octane rating.

W/that said, yes you could use 100% methanol/toulene, this is not recommended though by most manufacturers.

For "most" people, a 50/50 mix is optimal, or 75/25 meth/water at most.

^^^yes and every set up is different and so is your tune, there is no right or wrong way when mixing percentages between meth and water. Some set ups warrant running 100% water and can handle it with their ignition system, and some run 100% meth. Yes typical is 50/50, much of which has to do with handling safety, not effectiveness per say – like I said every set up /application is different. It’s based on balance between power/safety, it always is. How much cooling detonation suppressant do you have to have to run your set up effectively/safely vs how much meth/fuel you can get away with running. Water doesn’t burn, meth does. Each component on their own basically does the same thing, meth/alcohol cools and reduces detonation the same as water does, but much less effective. Meth will give you a more complete combustion/burn/power(assuming you have not reached detonation threshold) Your afr will drop further the more meth % you use. Just have to find the right mixture balance for you. I typically run 75%meth. More fuel works the best for my set up and I can get away with it since my detonation threshold is higher.

Home brewed. No one will ship/sell more then 50/50 due to safety reasons from what I have seen. I guess if it comes out of a state run pumping station its different IE: gasoline. Just go to an Auto parts store and pick up 100% meth IE: HEAT. Or Toluene, Denatured Alcohol form Home Depot and mix your own with PEAK windshield washer fluid or water.

it is so much cheaper to mix your own, and its stupid easy. like someone else said, go to vp buy som m1. then stop at grocery store and get some distilled water. then stop at walmart and pick up a glass measuring cup. just do 50/50 or 75/25 by volume. its not dead on like by mass, but its close enough that it doesnt matter.

not to mention, the shit you order is mixed by volume anyways. a 5 gallon jug of m1 lasted me 7500+ miles.
