joey has been running 70/30 for awhile now with no problems. thats also the most that the flow sensor can handle. if your running a nozzle pre throttlebody then u should get an SOS TB cause the meth will ruin the seals there.

 

I'd recommend the Full Blown TB.

Quick question on this: Can I just put all PEAK in there or would I have to mix it with denatured alcohol? Or water? I thought PEAK was basically a 50/50 mix of water/meth.

UPDATE: The aquamist check valves isnt working well at all now... I guess it doesnt take in heat well at all now that its 75+ degrees outside.

I am going to test out the solenoid method now.

 

so let me see if i got this straight, S-L-X from home depot is 100% meth or atleast 99.99% right? so if I mix 1 gallon of S-L-X and 1 gallon of distiled water, I will get 2 gallons of 50/50 mix? I will be installing my water/meth kit soon and want to know whats available for me to mix. If ppl can chime in with what they can get localy, i.e. autoshops and stores, to achieve a 50/50 mix. thanks

 

The least expensive 100% Methanol I have found comes in a 4 pack of HEAT at Walmart. Its $5.

PEAK washer fluid is 30% meth and 70% water. So you need to spike the PEAK with 2 bottles of HEAT or about 24oz of Meth/Alcohol to get a 50/50 ratio. Using these products, you can get over a gal of 50/50 for less then the cost of a gal of today's gasoline. There's a sobering thought.

I should add that Walmart has PEAK washer fluid for less then $2 gal

 

Thats exactly what I did.

 

I dont think 1 gallon of water and one gallon of METH equalls 50/50 mix, It has to be done by weight, not volume (I think?)

 

I started with 50/50 water/methanol but switched to 50/50 water/denatured alcohol about 1-1/2 years ago. I wanted to use something less corrosive than methanol and less toxic. Keep in mind that it's the water that is doing the majority of the work in heat removal (look at the "latent heat of evaporation" numbers for the various fluids being used). Orignially, meth was added to prevent the water from freezing, then at some point it also became a means for fuel enrichment.
I'm using only a 3gpm nozzle with a 200psi Ulka pump. This knocks the intake charge temp down to 95 degrees F max and trims EGT by about 200 degrees. Working very well for over 2 years now, more of just an added safety measure for me.
