That's why I run Hoosier r6's they have a stiff side wall they are for road racing also but suprisingly hold alot of power. When I had my nitro drags on my ap2 v1 wheels the back end felt loost because of the soft side wall for better straight line traction. My car handles the same I am on stock suspension also.
How many miles are you getting out of the tires running them on the street?

with all you guys running the drag radials don't you feel like your taking away from the essence of the car - it's handling? Is it all about straight line pulls for you? Just curious, I'm asking cause for me it was about building the ultimate sports car. Great handling which the s has out of the box and great acceleration which happened when I turbo'd it. Do drag radials offer any where near the handling as say a good r compound street legal track tire?
I don't know many cars that make 700whp and handle all that great....haha. You aren't going to be able to have the best of both worlds. If you want to make that much power, and stick it to the ground, you need a tire and suspension to handle it. Just like you need the proper tire and suspension to handle great
To me, yes, it's all about straight line pulls, drag racing is what I love to do. If I was interested in road racing, etc. I'd turn the boost down to about 350-400whp and put an awesome set of R compound tires, and have some fun. But the fact is, those tires, and a good road race/track suspension don't work when you start making above about 600whp or so.
It's a personal preference of what you want to do with your car. I have never felt unstable, or unsafe in my car with the DR's. Even going around corners at a decent click.

try yours first. see what happens, if it doenst hold, try a r comp tire. if that still doesnt hold then i suppose a full on race tire would allow u to still canyon carve and hold power.

that's how my Re01 looked like before I bought new tires
Does anyone make lower profile DR that would fit the AP2v2 wheels?
I haven't put alot of miles on the r6's but I do love them so far. I do not drive with these unless it's warm not in the rain or even wet. They only have two lines in them for "tread" they do handle well and are soft give lots of grip. I'm running stock suspension which is pretty soft and allows the car to squat a little give it some traction.

sorry for going off topic but I'm shocked that so many people are interested in the straight line/ drag rather then road course/ back roads use of the s2k...oh well learn something new everyday!
