i was supercharged and though it was fun at first i noticed that it wasnt the kick in the pants i needed. the linear feel of 310whp was alright but i demanded more for the money i spent. and as far as reliability it IS the driver. anyways i sold the charger and plan on going turbo end of this year.

Well i know this Debate can go forever ...
But i think it will be allways be wrong to say that the S2000 isnt any fun with SC on...Its just Wrong.
Maybe its a different beast with the turbo ON but Sometimes you have to look at your self, whats makes you happy is what matters. And probably You have to come to some Border and know whats Enough for you and that More Is possible but its not neccesary.
I always had Fun with my Car and if i go NA tommorow i will still have fun and if i Up the boost on the SC,i will still have fun,and if i go turbo i will still be the same. The only difference is how far are pople willing to go.
My car is Enugh for me right now and i am seriously thinking if i should Put the smaller pulleys i have or not.
I am thinking how would i be able to put all the power to the Tarmac if i Up the boost,I am having Little problems now and i dont know how you Monster HP cars do it now.( New 18" pirellies and all)
How do you Deliver all that low Down HP and TQ to the Ground?
I dont know Maybe its the company people keep and Respect is the most important thing but In the End,Owning a S2000 is whats matters and everything else is just Plus.

About the Video......
How much Boost does the first and the second car have,How much Power?
What language are they speaking in the car,
And maybe its me but after the Turbo Car gets 2 cars lead the SC car lets off...?

I hope i wont attract any heat on this just my .02

The believe the SC was in the 360 range and im not sure the boost. He was running a smaller pulley. The turbo at the time was around 410 @ 16psi. And no, the SC didnt let up after i pulled two cars + on him. If you notice towards the end the video zooms in on the gauges. He's on it throughout the whole video.

After that race the SC decided to go Turbo...

oh, they were speaking Turkish.

Yeah yeah...I know...blowers suck and all but, kiss tracking your car goodbye and say hello to constantly tinkering with your FI setup when you go turbo. The only turbo guy I know of the tracks his car is MSM...granted...he did it right. SC's are less power, slower, possibly boring, but easier to keep up and easier on the wallet.

I think a lot of it comes down to what you've experienced in your life. I was able to feel the power of a turbo s2k before I ever felt a SCed s2k. That made a bias to my opinion that the SC felt slow (becuase I felt much faster).

i love turbos, but you guys are totally missing the pro's of the SCer

im still undecided what root to take with my S, but SC has crossed my mind for a few reasons...even as much as i love the turbo feel, im afraid it will ruin the S...

SC is much more reliable for track racing than turbo charging the S.

SC keeps the wonderful NA sound and adds some nice whishing sounds

SC is subtle and doesnt have a huge front mount that looks retarded on an S

SC keeps the stock powerband

SC is quiter at IDLE and less likely to get you an exhaust ticket for gently cruising around town

SC is easier to uninstall later on

SC can make up around 400whp and realistically, unless we are talking a drag racing car, the SC will actually provide better throttle response for cornering, although less down low torque

A SCed S against a turboed S with similar power on an actual autoX course or race track would have different results IMO than a ****ing drag race on the street

i think you guys are too biased

Turbo cars pin you against the seat, yes, but gobs of torque isnt always want everyone cares about, even though it is a nice thing to have

if you daily drive your S 50-100 miles a day and race on weekends, the turbo wont be very reliable, where the SC will be

is this true? i was debating to go inline pro or Vortech for my Daily driven S. This comment/post may have deterred me a little. Is there a need for constantly tinkering with a turbo setup to keep it working under "normal" daily driving (non track) conditions?
i've been following many threads and every other day I'm deciding on one or the other...

Does anyone have a lot of miles clocked with a reliable turbo? It seems that most who turbo their S's are weekend warriors. If anyone has alot of miles without any problems or constantly fixing things, this would put to rest some of the reliability concerns that some would have when deciding between turbo/SC.

If you want to track with a turbo, you should look into a lower boost setting, and plenty of cooling mods. Bigger radiator, fan switch, high pressure rad cap, thermostat, plenty of fuel to keep temp down, vented hood...

Colder plugs would help as well.

Totally false. Turbo is MUCH quieter at idle than SC. The SC whines like a mofo, whereas u can't even tell my car is turbo unless u look under the hood.

I do agree w/everything else u said tho.

And btw, not all of Japan's tuner cars are NA. The Amuse turbo being the most prominent exception.
