I'd post in the "Under hood" section and hope Billman chimes in with a viable short cut solution you can try. You could always try PM him as well. With any luck all you did was ruin a thrust washer and nothing else.

...and what the heck is up with these Act PP and thrust washer issues. The saga appears to continue

Yea, that's terrible considering ACT revised their pp from what seems to be in response to this and you took measures to avoid bearing wear by bypassing the safety switch.

Did you run low on oil at any time?
