Cool, thanks for the pics. Can you take a pic of the the whole cooler itself, and a pic of the top tank also. I believe it needs to be sucked down a little farther. Try rotating the (Valute) on the blower and try pushing down on the exchanger when tightening everything down. The aftercooler should clear the hood by like 1/2 inch or more. It may just be clocked a little off. When you get a sec add a couple photos and ill take a look and see if there is anything i can help with.

Agreed. You need to clock the SC a little down to bring down the AC.

Uh oh, why is this? I just installed my blower this week and my anti-bumpsteer kit comes in tuesday. What issue am I about to run into?

Thanks,

Looking to pick up another S2K as a weekend car, and looking seriously at this SC kit.

Would the SoS Stage 1 kit, along with a full catless J's Exhaust (manifold, test pipe, FX 70RR) be enough to put an AP2 in the 350rwhp range?

Or would I be better off just going for the big-boy kit with the Hondata and higher boost?
w/ the stage I i got 313whp and thats with a tp. I doubt you'll reach that hp with fullexhaust
350+whp is more like a stage II

Thank. I'll talk to SoS about getting it set up when the time comes.

It appears that your volute is rotated too far upwards which is causing the aftercooler to rotate upwards and hit your hood. Please loosen the volute's fasteners and loosen the hose clamps securing the silicone couplers. Rotate the volute down (the discharge should be almost parallel to the front cross member) and secure. This will also cause the aftercooler to back off from the mounting bolt that was being contacted. When installed, there should be more than a half inch from both these points so that they do not rub.

Cheers,
-- Chris

I think I'm going to need to do this as well. Is it possible to re-clock it on the car or do you have to remove it?

Finished installing the SOS kit this past week on my friend's '04. We dynoed before and after on the same dyno dynamics roller. Please understand that these numbers were calibrated in SHOOT OUT MODE. So unlike regular Dyno dynamics numbers. these will be inflated (probably more than a Dynojet). First dyno was a cool 63 degree morning. Second dyno was mid afternoon humid and 87 degrees.

So it breaks down like this:

320.6whp - 224.2whp = 96.4whp increase from stock (shootout mode numbers)

96.4 / 224.2 = .42997 or roughly a 43% increase in overall whp.

Just figured I'd share. Was worried after install that it wasn't making boost. (I tapped into the wrong vacuum line for the gauge).

I also come from the world of nissan sr20 and subaru turbos and such so I am expecting more torque.

It definitely pulls nice up top though. The power band seems the same until you get to around 6k. Then the fun begins.

Overall a well put together kit. This is a great kit for those looking for a good clean and reliable boost in power and not looking to "sweep up the streets." It makes the car much more fun to drive. We were satisfied with the results. Thanks SOS crew.

Oh forgot to add.... Stage 1 SOS kit, stock exhaust, stock headers, stock cat, standard size heat exhanger, SOS signal box on stock engine management sitting on 18in Volk winnings w/ henrik lundqvist edition polished lip and yokohama S drive tires if that matters....
