As long as you have the same injectors and your air fuel isn't out of range you will be ok. Just dont hit boost.

I think you're actually supposed to start revving the motor up a bit at some point during the break in (after several hundred miles). Not sure if that's really important or needs to be done prior to the dyno.

As far as just putting around though I agree with umair: If the fuel setup is still the same then the old map should work fine for the lower end, just monitor your AFR and make sure you're not leaning out.

Great. Should I lower my boost controller to prevent boost? You do have to rev it up to 4K rpm or so as part of the break in. So overall I should be safe as long as i dont beat on it?

Thanks for the great answers

That sounds like a good idea. I don't have alot (any) experience in this area but I think that would make for a more efficient and safe break in period.

If your AFR still looks good I may even say just turn the boost all the way down so you can rev the engine out as far as the break in requires, but I'd definitely consult a tuner/builder first before going to ohard into the rev range with an untuned new engine.

Just to be thorough, I'd use break-in oil as well. Driven oil from Joe Gibbs Racing is good stuff.

And of that you're right, but it will prevent me from hitting boost during break in.
Great advice Folks. Any other tips for the break in, or base map?
