I think Honda Tuning magazine did a dyno on the Comptech kit with stock exhaust. This was while ago, but I remember it was a white one with Comptech sideskirts and aftermarket seats. I dont remember the results though. Try doing a search on there website.
I found this but it has a tanabe exhaust... http://www.hondatuningmagazine.com/feature...tion/index.html

Stock exhausts are very easy to get cheap. Try it out, if you notice a decrease in power that you are not happy with then go with a after market exhaust that is both lighter and on the quieter side. I believe you will lose around 12-15 hp by going from your current exhaust to a stock unit. Then if you go from stock to a quieter aftermarket exhaust you will probably gain back half of what was lost. Good luck!

You probably wont feel a 10hp loss on the butt dyno.

do you have any fuel management? if you do and intent to add fuel, then, a less restrict exhaust is what I will recommend. However, under the idea of running 7 lb boost and no extra fuel management, stock will do fine as long as you feel the power is enough (never to me). BTW, stock sounds really aggressive at 6000 rpm + with SC setup!!

I am considering the same thing of going back to stock exhaust. I am currently running a Spugen Dual TI. Noise is at an annoying level. It seemed to get louder with the S/C.

I spoke with Vortech on the issue. They stated that their test vehicle is using an aftermarket exhaust (CatBack), but that in their belief the OEM exhaust for the S2000 is a very well designed exhaust and should be able to handle the added duties of a S/C. They did say expect a slight decrease in hp, but more to the tune of 3-5 hp, which to me is not that substantial. My S/C is more for enjoyment and sport driving not racing, so the slight decrease in hp with the added noice reduction is an ideal situation.

the stock exhaust flows just as good as most aftermarket exhausts and even better than some. you guys claiming 10hp increases from exhaust are out of your mind. that is completely untrue. sure companies can post dyno charts that show an increase, but you can make a dyno chart say anything you want with the proper tweaking of the weather/altitude settings.

i noticed NO increase in power on my S when i put the invidia on. the only time i notice a difference is when i put in or take out the silencers, and even then it's barely noticable.

if you guys could see some of the pictures of the STACKS of different mufflers that honda R&D tried on the S you would understand why there is so little hp to be gained by going with an aftermarket unit. unless you are making over 300hp i wouldn't consider the stock exhaust to be a bottleneck at all.

i bought mine to shed a few pounds and for the look/sound.
