If the shifter placement was the same it would be a great option. Just buying a good supra tranny is 5k plus prob another 1-2k for plates and drive shafts.

That is in the territory of a PPG or as I said the gforce 5 speed ( I dont care about 6 speed in racing) which is stronge as anything you can get for our cars.

If you want a tiny gearbox with crazy strength and high rpm shifting, go for the ZF used in BMW. You can find it in E36 M3`s, E46 330´s and many other models.

I know and it looks very similar to the OEM trans too. I bet it would fit great. My only concern is the high rpm shifts, but the 6060 may be a better choice that can handle the high rpm shifts. The 6060 is the next step up from the T56 I believe and is newer.

You got it in 6-speed from M3 -96, the 321 hp version. A bit lower in USA IIRC.
And most of the newer models like E46 got the 6-speed.

Look at the shifter placement between the OEM trans and the T56 in these pictures on the sites I've attached. They are very similar and being that the T56's shifter can be moved around is a very good sign of it fitting like stock. the trans size and look is very similar also.

I believe the new Camaro and G8, but Tremec can build them specific for a certain bell housing I believe.

The problem I see with this trans is that it looks like the bell housing wont be able to be interchangeable like with the T56 or TR6060. See where our bell housing disconnects? Now look at the T56 and TR6060, they are similar.
