Thumbs up Traction Control *AEM ECU*

I was curious if there is anyone else out there using this option on the AEM ECU for traction control by speed and gear?
Im curious on if people like it or even use it.

I have boost by gear, its amazing, it ramps up until 3rd gear then goes all out, makes flooring it in second much better

Yeah its pretty much the same but this actually uses a sensor on a wheel that doesn't loose traction and calculates by the speed for each gear to allow for your boost and performance to be a little more accurate...
Some of the high performance import drag cars are using it especially on tracks that don't have good traction.

Unless it has changed AEM's traction control works off of rate of acceleration...for example if your VSS accelerates faster than what they can normally accelerate under traction then it knows you are getting slip.

Last I heard this was illegal in outlaw/sfwd racing. I believe they were using abs sensors for the endpoints.

I believe it is illegal... I think.... I'm not exactly sure on what they are using but I would be interested in how it really works.

my understanding of traction control, at least on the AEM EMS, is that it uses a VSS and isn't very accurate, unless an additional VSS sensor is installed. Which is put on the front wheel if its a rear wheel drive and the rear on a front wheel drive, so it can work out the speed differential between the sensor on the output shaft of the transmission and the actual speed of the vehicle. This makes it much more accurate to control wheel spin on these cars which are still using non-DBW throttle setups.
