I agree. Reliable (and real) 500whp is not do-able for under $4k... unless maybe you use a HUGE turbo to compensate for the lost efficieny with a log. With a properly sized turbo, you'd be (VERY) lucky to get 400-450whp for $4k or under. If you want 500whp with a proper sized turbo, I'd guess you would need $6k at the bare minimum.

OP.

Honestly, do you need 500hp in an S2K? Think about it, they make about 200whp stock, don't you think DOUBLE that at 400whp is plenty? I've a lot of years of serious racing and consider 500+ to be very difficult to put down effectively on a road course. Or are you looking for a drag/dyno/garage queen?

Make the car fast and fun to drive, focus on some handling a bit to put that 400whp down even. I think you'll find it to be shockingly fast at 400whp if you can drive it properly.

That said I've felt 750hp in it and it's a blast and all but again difficult to use the power available in an effective manner.

If you've got 400whp you can expect to keep up with plenty of Ferrari, Porsche turbos, corvettes, etc. That's already pretty respectable for a car that isn't too lacking in the handling department either.

NO way for under $2000. If u want want the "boost look" buy a intercooler put a filter on the other end and it will be a awesome cold air intake and put some gauges on hahah. But on all seriousness im pushing the 11K mark with my setup. When it comes to your car. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. Sometimes you may get lucky majority of the time you won't.
