You can get the right sock perhaps at ebay.. i got mine supplied with my HRC 255LPH fuel pump...

I think its normal that the wastegate flapper doesnt open 90 degrees when the downpipe is ON.. it should hit the downpipe at around 45 degrees...
if you have the turbo off the car, you should better port the wastegate 1-2mm bigger ( make sure the wastegate flapper will still cover the hole, even with the sideway play it has.. ) so you won't have a big boost creep issue anymore and the flow will be better..
They sell the filter sock at honda. I just ordered one.

Yep, the turbo isn't installed yet. I was thinking of porting the wastegate but that flapper won't move all the way down Like in the picture. Am I supposed to put more force on it, I don't want to break anything.
With the downpipe attached, it won't open up 90 degrees but more like 45 degrees ebcause it hits the downpipe. this is NOT a big deal since after it's opened up 45 degrees, the flow wouldnt be any better than if it would be 90 degrees open. The size of the wastegate hole, thats the important factor..

Thanks. I ended up oiling the wastegate and tapping it a bit with the handle of a screwdriver and it now opens all the way. Still a bit rough at around 15 degrees. Hmmm..did you port yours with a dremmal? Or maybe i'll just get it going for now. Can't wait to put it on. I also got a sweet CF spark plug cover in the mail.

BTW, anyone know the mitsubishi part number for the downpipe studs. Looked at the instructions and they are 8m x 1.25 x 30? Trying to find some that won't cost me an arim and leg.

lobuck, i had a shop to work on my wastegate, they machined it out...

I went to the dyno yesterday,

specs:

ap1 Greddy kit running 7,5 LBS of boost
Berk 3" headerback with HFC
ACT clutch
Fidanza flywheel

Ambient temp: 66 degrees fahrenheit

My tuner did a fantastic job at smoothing out the power curve, VTEC is STILL at 6000 RPM.

The car is a BLAST to drive though!

I really don't have a clue what type of dyno this is... Mustang?

The FLYWHEEL ( ENGINE ) power was 296HP Torque was 198 LB-Ft

I do find it very odd that the dyno reads about 75HP power loss ( HP vs WHP ) I believe it just can't be 220WHP like the dynosheet mentions it.. Anyone chime in on that?

Nevertheless, i'm absolutely loving the power now!

I'm gonna alter the ultimate harnass to get VTEC at 7000 rpm so we can remove the current "dip "between 6000-7000 ( although it really isnt a dip since it's still climbing ) and raise the boost to 10-11 LBS... I'm VERY curious if i'm able to hit the magic 300WHP goal... ( should be something like 350 flywheel i guess ) so i'm hoping to get another 50HP increase with upping the boost from 7.5 to 11 LBS..

Let me know what you guys think!

Nice! Yeah, I don't think I'll port the wastegate just yet, Maybe get everything in and running ok first. I was reading that vtec change thread too. Interesting.

What hand tool would you guys use?

I just got a spare oil pan welded with a 10 an fitting. And also had them weld on the FORGED oil pan baffle. Now to install along with the oil jet bolt. .
