[QUOTE=devs2k,Feb 3 2009, 09:23 AM] it should be OK in the winter as long as your AFRs look okay...

During the year, boost holds steady at 7-8psi to redline, but in the winter it can spike up to 10-11 psi before settling at 8 psi.

maybe the spiking in the summer is more dangerous because of hotter temps in the combustion chamber?
It would depend on your tune; even though I am spiking to 11 in the winter, my tuner has it mapped to x psi (don't know exactly, but I assume its up to the middle teens) so that my AFRs are fine. Note that on the dyno when I got, my PSI never went above 7-8 psi in these warmer temperatures.

In fact, in the winter, my AFRs are really rich (high 10s, low 11s) when I am spiking that high, a function of my tuner's conservative "spreadsheet tuning" as he extrapolated the fuel needed in a boost spike condition.

Yeah...just take the old ones with you to compare, you should have no problems finding new tubing

Remember, I was taking about boost creep, not spiking, two different things.
The extend to which the boost creeps should not depend on the weather. One can argue that it is safer during the winter though due to cooler temperatures.

My setup is Berk test pipe and Tanabe Touring exhaust....I think it is stock diameter.

I might just slap HFC on the car and call it a day : /

Boost Creep, & Spike are directly related to the weather. The coolder the air is, the denser it becoms, also the car makes more power, so it spools quicker etc.......

but the engine moves the same amount of air through whether it is cold or hot. After the combustion the number of inlet air temperature would not matter.

yeah but the air it moves through in the summer is much less dense air.

I know when it was 60F and above I didnt creep with a test Pipe, anything below that I was Boosting uncontrollably

All I can say is the summer and fall I had no boost creep with a 3" TP. At 20 degrees and a berk HFC I have a 1+ psi pound creep/spike from 9.5 to low 11. I think the colder the more you need to be careful.
