Without the belt present, there isn't enough air pressure getting sucked through the blower to spin he impeller hardly at all. Even if it does spin by air going through, how is this more harmful than if the impeller was being spun by the belt? The oil still moves through the bearin jacket for lubricatio. I just don't see why it's bad.
I ran without the belt for a few days during my installation. Even when holding the rpm artificially high, the S/C pulley never moved, therefore, the impeller never turned.

Horsepowerfreaks has a 3.25" pulley listed for Mustangs. It is a 6-ribber. Question would be, "Can you find a belt that will fit?"
Just talked with ASP. The above pulley will not work according to them. $95 for pulley made of either steel(1 week) or aluminum(3wk wait).

He probably made the simple mistake of what was posted about turbo chargers spinning without being connected to the intake track and got them mixed up

Hmm, that is considerably less than the $145 + Shipping for a 10psi Pulley from Science of Speed and additional $38 + Shipping for the Belt.

Where did you get that info from? I looked on their site and found nothing. What diameter is the 10lbs pulley?

Again, finding a belt that can be sufficiently tightened may be a trick(for the 3.25" pulley)... dunno.
