I visited there web page and ended up looking at the High Power Pulley Upgrade for Comptech Supercharger. From that point I contacted them letting them know I am in Virginia and cannot make it there for tuning and the entire package asking if I can buy just the pulley & belt. I was then contacted by Chris telling me they do sell the 10psi pulley for $145 + Shipping and the Belt being an additional $38. They told me they do have these in stock. They also stated that they sell the 550cc injectors and EMS that they use with this kit

SOS is really a expensive shop

1. order the pulley from ASP, I rather prefer steel
2. Buy the 550 cc with clips from our sponsors
3. There are a few AEM used in the FS forum

A local friend of mine is placing an order with ASP tomorrow for a custom Steel 3.25" Pulley so I will be having him order a second one for myself.

With the fact that I will be going with a 3.25" Pulley I will be opting to go with 650cc injectors, so now it comes down to locating a board sponsor to purchase the injectors from.

I have visited the link that you supplied, but nothing is stated on a 3.25" Pulley. AusS2000 had recommended a 39" Belt for a 4" Pulley, a 38" Belt for a 3.5" Pulley, so I am guessing that i'll be attempting to locate a 37" Gatorback Belt.

In regards to the AEM EMS, speaking with a friend I understand Horsepowerfreaks offer a great deal on the 1052-U so unless I find a great deal around the time I plan to move further, I will purchase from them.

 

Granted, aluminum would offer less rotating mass, but is there any other reason for choosing it over steel? I've heard folks(before this thread) debate the merits of both, however, cannot recollect any of the points! Old age is coming early for me.

 

The only benefit to steel is it tends to grip the belt better and decreases the belt slipping to a very small degree. The aluminum ones work fine in our applications and weigh considerably less. Are you sure you want steel?

Sideways, did you skip over the 11lbs pulley and go straight to 13lbs(now 16 lbs if I read right) after the head work?

 

IMHO, an aluminum pulley is the way to go, as long as it's made of something strong such as 6061 T-6 aluminum and treated, i.e. hard anodized.

I went with a Steel ASP on their advice to help and reduce slippage!
I have a 14 pound pulley which measures 3 inches where the belt rides.

Two 3.25" pulleys ordered(one for BN and one for me) and to be made by ASP. Now to find the right size belt.

FWIW, we ordered the aluminum ones at the recommendation of Lee at ASP. Our application, just as Sideways mentioned, will be fine without having to go to steel.
